YEAR OF FAITH: The Year of Faith begins on Thursday, October 11, 2012 and marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council, and the twentieth anniversary of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The Year of Faith will conclude on November 24, 2013. During the Year of Faith, Catholics are asked to study and reflect on the documents of Vatican II and the catechism so that they may deepen their knowledge of the faith. DISCUSSIONS ON FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP: The Diocese of Ogdensburg will host a series of webinars entitled, Discussions on Faithful Citizenship in collaboration with the New York State Catholic Conference. BISHOPS FUND APPEAL: The 2012 Bishop’s Fund Appeal is set to begin in our parish and throughout the Diocese of Ogdensburg. The Appeal provides us the opportunity to share our blessings with others as we continually serve those who need our help the most throughout our community. Our goal is to have 117 or more families in our parish participating in the Bishop’s Fund Appeal. If we do this, we will surely exceed our parish financial target of $ 9552. Last year 111 families generously contributed $9098. Your gift to the 2012 Bishop’s Fund Appeal will help continue the vital ministries, services and programs that reach out to so many in need. Please consider making a pledge or one-time gift to this year’s effort. LABOR DAY CELEBRATION: Labor Day Celebration to benefit Holy Name School in AuSable Forks will be on Labor Day, Monday September 3rd starting at 10:00 AM with a parade. This marks the 100th year of Catholic education in the AuSable Forks area. Chicken Bar-B-Q from 2-4 PM. There will be games for children, a classic car show and more.
