WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE THIRTY-SEVEN WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION Hello Spiritual Friends, 37 weeks ago my life started at conception. I am an amazing creation of God and I will be born in one week. I weigh a little more than seven pounds and I am close to 21 1/2 inches long. All of my organs, including my lungs are ready for birth now. My immune system is gaining strength at this point to protect me once I am outside of my mother’s womb. My mom is feeling really ready for me to be born. Please keep us in your prayers. Pray for
my life, protect my life and defend my life. My love shall never leave you nor my covenant of peace be shaken says the Lord, who has mercy on you . All your sons shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. (Isaiah 54:13)

CATHOLIC CALENDARS: Calendars for 2012 indicating the special holy days and saints of the Catholic Church are available for your home or workplace. This year they are on the theme of Christian stewardship.

N MEMORY OF OUR DEPARTED FAMILY: The Catholic Church invites us in the month of November to remember those who have died. Death is the end of our earthly journey. The Church encourages us to prepare ourselves for that hour of death by prayer. Mary, our Blessed Mother, gave us her prayer, the Hail Mary, in which she mentions she will be with us at the hour of death. During November let us remember especially those who were called by death to their everlasting life since last November and whose funeral and/or burial was in this parish.

JOINING THE SAINTS: Halloween" is a name that means nothing by itself. It is a contraction of "All Hallows Eve," and it designates the vigil of All Hallows Day, more commonly known as All Saints Day celebrated on Tuesday, November 1.. Many of the Halloween traditions had their origins in the All Saints/All Souls religious traditions of the Catholic Church. Some of them were part of the Celtic pagan tradition including lighting bonfires, carving pumpkins, and going from house to house, collecting treats.

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY: We are called to this Eucharistic celebration — along with Catholics in every parish, chapel and church throughout the world — to fulfill the call we first heard at Baptism, the call to be missionaries, to share our faith. On World Mission Sunday, we are invited to “celebrate the hope that saves” through prayer and participation in the Eucharist, and by giving generously to the collection today for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. Let us pray especially at this Mass for all who long to hear the hope-filled, saving message of Jesus, and for the priests, religious and lay catechists in mission countries worldwide who offer them that “Good News.”

WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE THIRTY-SIX WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Hello Spiritual Friends, I am 36 weeks along in my life – just two more weeks until I am born. I weigh 6 3/4˙ pounds and I am about 21 inches long. I am gaining about an ounce a day. My lungs are developing surfactant now, which helps the alveoli expand. I am using my lungs to practice breathing and get the hiccups frequently. My mom can feel these little jumps! My mom’s doctor is encouraging her to rest as much as possible now so she is ready for me. Thus says the Lord God: See, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and raise my signal to the peoples; They shall bring your sons in their arms and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders. WORLD MISSION SUNDAY: Next Sunday, Pope Benedict XVI calls every Catholic in the world to celebrate our vocation to be missionary. It’s World Mission Sunday! As Catholics around the world — here at home and in the Missions — gather at the Eucharist around the table of the Lord, we are to pray for the Church’s worldwide missionary work. We pray for those awaiting the “Good News” of our Lord’s great love for us and for the missionaries who offer the poor and suffering the light of Christ. And we are to offer financial help through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith for more than 1,150 dioceses in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Pacific Islands.

WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE THIRTY-FIVE WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
My Dear Spiritual Friends, my life started 35 weeks ago at my conception and I am only a few short weeks away from my birth. I weigh 6 1/2 pounds and I am 21 inches in total length. From this point forward, I am considered “full term” and I could be born at any time now without medical concern. My mom goes to the doctor every week and she does not feel like eating much. It is important for her to eat small healthy meals to keep us both well. Please keep us in your prayers. Hear me, O coastlands, listen, O distant peoples. The Lord called me from birth, from my mother’s womb he gave me my name. (Isaiah 49:1)

NEW PRAYERS, SAME MASS : Beginning with the First Sunday of Advent November 27,2011 Catholics in this country will worship using the new English translation of the Roman Missal, Third Edition. The most noticeable changes are in the Order of Mass and the priest’s prayers. And also with you becomes And with your spirit. We believe becomes I believe, and one in being becomes consubstantial. Though some words are new, the Mass itself is not changing. This is an opportunity for spiritual renewal. Learning to pray with new words, we enter into the mystery of the Eucharist with greater awareness and appreciation. To understand the new prayers take home a copy of the prayer card and booklet at the entrance to the church

WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE THIRTY-FOUR WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Dear Spiritual Friends, 34 weeks ago my life began at my conception and I am getting closer to my birth. I weigh 6 pounds and am 20 1/4 inches in total length. It’s time for my mom to find a pediatrician for me and to finish my nursery. We are only four weeks away from my arrival date. My lungs are getting stronger and I practice breathing movements more frequently now. I have my head down and I will stay that way until I am born. My mom is getting a suitcase packed for our trip to the hospital for my delivery. It is hard for her to eat much now, because I am big. Then the children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them, but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these (Matthew 19:13-14)

WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE THIRTY-THREE WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Hello Spiritual Friends, my life started at my conception 33 weeks ago. I am putting on a lot of baby fat now and weigh 5 1/2 pounds. I am 20 1/4 inches long. I am gaining weight to keep me warm after I am born. I have been viable, or able to survive outside of the womb, for many weeks now, but I remain inside what should be the safest place on earth – my mother’s womb. My mom is feeling very big and is anxious about my arrival. Pray for my life, protect my life and defend my life. I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world. (John 16:3)

BISHOPS FUND APPEAL: We are grateful to the families that have made a sacrificial gift to this year’s Appeal. Our parish has raised $4.875 toward the effort. Thank you to all who have supported this year’s Appeal. If you have not made a 2011 Bishop’s Fund Appeal commitment, please pray about your decision and make a pledge or one-time gift. Pledge envelopes are located at the back of the church. Online giving is also available atwww.dioogdensburg.org/development.
