MARRIAGE TIP: How do you account for your money – joint or separate checking accounts? Be mindful that your money is always “ours.” It doesn’t matter who earns it, spending it should be a joint decision. Is yours? Find more Marriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org.

WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE: TEN WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Hello Spiritual Friends, my life started at my conception ten weeks ago and every organ system is in place. My little feet are perfectly shaped and I have my own distinct fingerprints. It is now possible to hear my heartbeat with a Fetal Doppler Heart Monitor and I am moving so much. I mimic breathing with my lungs and will even grasp an object placed in my hand. I open my mouth and wiggle my fingers and toes. My mother is not bothered by morning sickness as much now. The beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord, which is formed with
the faithful in the womb.” (Sirach 1:12)

BIRTHRIGHT VOLUNTEER TRAINING: When you hear of someone who is pregnant and in difficulties, do you want to help her quietly in practical ways that respect her dignity and her baby’s life? Consider joining Birthright. Training will be held on Saturday, May 21 starting at 9:30 am running till 3:00 pm. For information and to reserve your place please call and arrange an interview with the training chairman, Anne Marie Healey at the BIRTHRIGHT OFFICE (563-4300), 66 Clinton Street, Plattsburgh or at home (834-7091), 183 Hill St, Keeseville.

EASTER EGGS: Did you know that Easter Eggs originated in northern Europe soon after Christianity was established there? Always regarded as symbols of spring and new life, the egg also represents the stone tomb left empty when Christ rose from the dead. It is little wonder the custom of decorating eggs for such a festive occasion became a custom we still follow today.

EASTER LILY: Did you know that the Easter lily has always been a traditional symbol of beauty, perfection, purity and goodness? With a beautiful spring bloom known as a trumpet, and such a sweet fragrance, it has become a true symbol of jubilation. It is as welcome after the winter snows as the Easter Alleluia!

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY: The Second Sunday of Easter (May 1) has been named Divine Mercy Sunday, a yearly invitation to Catholics to face, with confidence, the difficulties and trials that persons experience throughout the year. Devotion to Divine Mercy was promoted by Saint Faustina, a Polish nun born in Glogowiec, Poland, on August 25, 1905. She became a nun in the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. Beginning on February 22, 1931, and through her death in 1938, Saint Faustina received revelations and visits from Christ. In 1934, she began recording these in a diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul.

A BLESSED EASTER!
ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!

Funds for this collection not only support the holy places, but also pastoral, charitable, educational and social works throughout the Holy Land.

They must also receive Holy Communion at least once each year during the Easter season, which this year extends from March 9th until Trinity Sunday, June 19th.

BRING SOMEONE TO CHURCH: It has been shown that many persons would return to the practice of their faith if someone would invite them to return. And, surprisingly, this is especially true if the one asking was at one time one of those who had left the practice of their faith. What greater time is there than to bring someone back to church during these days of Lent and the coming days of Palm Sunday and Holy Week.

MARRIAGE TIP: Repair attempts are crucial and are highly predictive of marital happiness. They can be clumsy or funny, even sarcastic, but the willingness to make up after an argument, is central to every happy marriage. How do you typically make up after a fight?. Find more Marriage Rx atwww.foryourmarriage.org.

WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE: NINE WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Dear Spiritual Friends, I was conceived nine weeks ago and continue to grow very rapidly. In three weeks, I will be twice as big! I am about 2 1/2 inches long and have fingernails. While my gender was determined at my conception, now it may be possible to tell whether I am a boy or girl by looking at me. My mother is noticing more changes in her body, too. . “And now, bless the God of all who has done wondrous things on earth, who fosters men’s growth from their mother’s womb, and fashions them according to his will.” (Sirach 50:22)

MARRIAGE TIP: Sometimes it’s OK to talk behind your spouse’s back – at least when it comes to telling someone how well he handled a home repair or how deftly she finessed a troublesome neighbor. The compliment will eventually get back to your spouse and sound so sweet through the back door. Find more Marriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org.

WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE - EIGHT WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Hi Friends, I was conceived eight weeks ago and I am about 1 1/2 inches long. I grew half an inch since last week. It is fun to move around and I am learning how to swallow, too. On an ultrasound you might catch me hiccupping. My taste buds and teeth buds are forming and sometimes I open my mouth. My mom is gaining a little more weight and is starting to think about getting maternity clothes. “Did He not create them in the womb like me, the same God forming us in the womb?” (Job 31:15)

WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE - SEVEN WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Dear Spiritual Friends, I was conceived seven weeks ago and have changed so much. I really look like a little person now – even though I am tiny. I am about one inch long. Did you know that seven weeks after conception, unborn babies swim around using “swimmer strokes” to move. I like to swim, but my mom won’t be able to feel me moving for several more weeks. My mom is gaining a little more weight and her blood volume is increasing to protect her from injury. “Children too are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb, a reward…” (Psalm 127:3))
