MARRIAGE TIP: Fighting Fair Tip: Keep it current. One couple has the rule of thumb that any issue older than the milk in the refrigerator is no longer game. Recurring arguments usually mean that there’s something behind the present problem that irks the other. Find more Marriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org.

GLUTEN FREE HOSTS: If you are in need of a gluten free host, simply inform Fr. Deno before Mass, and he will make sure there is one available for you at Communion.

PREPARATIONS FOR LENT:   Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5. Lent is an opportunity to spend 40 days in renewing our spiritual life and our relationship with God and with others. The entire time of Lent should be observed in a spirit of prayer and penance. Spending extra time in prayer or reading the Bible, attending daily Mass, voluntary sacrifice and self-denial, combined with works of charity and service to others, are all excellent ways to obey the Lord’s command to do penance and to prepare for the joyful celebration of Easter. Spiritual opportunities available to you at St. James this Lent are:
Ash Wednesday, Mass and receiving of blessed ashes
Daily participation in Mass
A series of booklets on the basic teachings of the Catholic Faith provided by the Knights of Columbus
The Bible and You: a guide to the Bible
Sunday Bulletins with special teachings on Fasting and Prayer
Public Stations of the Cross each Friday evening at 6:30
Opportunity for the Sacrament of Confession
Operation Rice Bowl: a journey of prayer, fasting, and giving.

HOLY ANGELS, ALTONA: Spring Brunch on Sunday, April 27 serving 8AM-1PM.

MARCH 5 --APRIL 13: From March 5 through April 13, you’re invited to join other Christians for 40 Days for Life -- 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion.  You’re also invited to stand and peacefully pray during the 40 day vigil in the public riight-of-way outside Planned Parenthood of the North Country New York, 66 Brinkeroff Street, Plattsburgh, and also to help spread the word about this important community outreach.  If you would like more information--especially if you would like to volunteer to help, please contact: Nancy Monette, Plattsburgh 40 Days for Life Outreach Coodinator a 518-561-8225 or go to www.40daysforlife.com/plattsburgh.

SETON CATHOLIC CENTRAL OPEN HOUSE:  You are invited to Seton Catholic Central Open House on Thursday March 16 - 6PM to 8PM. It provides a wonderful opportunity to tour the school’s facilities and meet the faculty and current students. This event will include both a Science Fair with 7th and 8th graders’ hands on  experiments and a Curriculum Fair displaying the work and extracurricular activities of current students.  Everyone is welcome to attend!
