Mission Intention for May: That the media may be at the service of truth and peace.

CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS: There are many dioceses right here in the United States whose parishes struggle to keep their doors open. These dioceses are classified as home missions and cannot maintain pastoral programs like catechesis, youth ministry, and seminary formation on their own. The Catholic Home Missions Appeal supports these dioceses by funding essential ministries, including aid to vulnerable parishes. The Appeal next weekend is to support these churches.

HEALING MINISTRY: Living Waters Healing Ministry Mass at St. Alexander’s Church, Morrisonville, First Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM.

ENVISIONING: At the request of Bishop Terry LaValley all parishes in the Diocese of Ogdensburg began a 5 year process of Diocesan Goals & Priorities by the name of ENVISIONING. The purpose and the plan are described in Find Your Home in Christ, a Pastoral Letter from Bishop LaValley.  Copies of this letter are at the entrance of the church and in a framed copy on the wall of the Church.  Please take home and read a copy of this letter.

MARRIAGE TIP: Explore what made your beloved the person he/she is. What traits did she/he get from her/his parents? Who was the most influential person in your spouse’s life during childhood? Ask. Share. Find more Marriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org.

GLUTEN FREE HOSTS: If you are in need of a gluten free host, simply inform Fr. Deno before Mass, and he will make sure there is one available for you at Communion.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: Membership in the Knights of Columbus will be of  interest to you as a Catholic man if you are a Catholic who believes in

Prayer for the safe return of the young women abducted in Nigeria
Human trafficking is ugly. The terror, degradation and destruction of the human spirit and body are real. A secondary school for girls, in Nigeria, was attacked and almost 300 young girls were abducted. They are destined to be sold in the sex slave trade. While a small group of the girls were able to escape, two have died of snake bites, the others are missing and being held by a group of terrorists.
Let us put our belief in the power of prayer  into action and join together as a Diocesan family to pray for the safe return of these young girls. You are invited to use the prayer to St. Josephine Bakita. Every day until the safe return of these young girls let us pray:
St. Josephine Bakita, you were sold into slavery as a child and endued untold hardship and suffering. Once liberated from your physical enslavement, you found true redemption in your encounter with Christ and his Church. O St. Bakita, assist all those who are trapped in a state of slavery. Intercede with God on their behalf so that they will be released from their chains of captivity. Those whom man enslaves let God set free. Provide comfort to survivors of slavery and let them look to you as an example of hope and faith. Help all survivors find healing from their wounds. We ask for your prayers and intercessions for those enslaved among us. Amen.
