ASSUMPTION OF MARY: The feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15) is not a holiday of obligation this year in this country since it falls on Saturday.
YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED TO KNOW THAT: The MASS includes the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The Liturgy of the Word contains the readings, the homily and the prayers of intercession. The Liturgy of the Eucharist is the heart and summit of the celebration, as established by Jesus at the Last Supper. It is called the Mass from the Latin missa which means "mission" or "sending" with which the Mass concludes when the priest says: Go in Peace to love and serve the Lord to which you respond Thanks be to God.
MARRIAGE TIP: What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are, but how you deal with incompatibility. In what way are you and your spouse most different? Find moreMarriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org
