Mission Intention for May
That all involved in apostolic work may understand how to influse missionary enthusiasm into the communities entrusted to their care.
BAPTISM: Killian Ryan Baker, son of Brett and Christina (Rabideau) Baker became a member of the Catholic community through the Sacrament of Baptism on April 18th.
FUNERAL: A funeral was celebrated this week for John Coryea. Please remember him and his family in your prayers.
CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS APPEAL: Right here in the United States, some dioceses are unable to provide fundamental pastoral care for their faithful. These “home mission” dioceses cannot support an adequate number of priests. They cannot afford funding for youth ministry programs or religious education. This week we take up a collection for the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. Help strengthen the Church at home with a generous donation.
HOW YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD
Recognize your importance. God provides all you need to fulfil your mission. Cultivate your gifts and urge others to develop theirs.
Create productive change. Rather than finding fault and criticizing, ask yourself What good can I do today? Then do it.
Pray. Spend time with God. Entrust yourself, your loved ones and all your brothers and sisters to His care.
Stick with it. If you get discouraged, remember that perseverance and patience are vital to success.
ROSARY RALLY: A Rosary Rally for the four Sundays of May will be held at the House of Prayer, Ellenburg Center, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on May 2 - Joyful Mysteries for Life, on May 9 - Luminous Mysteries for all Women, on May 16 - Sorrowful Mysteries for Healing, on May 23 - Glorious Mysteries. Phone Pat at 518-594-3253 with questions.
AT HOME WITH OUR FAITH: The May issue of At Home with Our Faith is now available at the entrance to the church.
MARRIAGE TIP: Marriage works best when you have similar moral values, but what if you have different beliefs in a particular situation? The rule of thumb is to honor the stricter person’s moral values. Find more Marriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org.
BLESSED BROTHER ANDRÉ TO BE DECLARED A SAINT: Blessed Brother André Bessette, C.S.C., will be canonized, or formally declared a saint, in a ceremony to be held Oct. 17th in Rome by Pope Benedict XVI.
