Mission Intention for December
That our personal experience of suffering may enable us to better understand the unease and pain of those who are alone, sick or aged and stir us to give them generous help.
CHRISTMAS FLOWERS COLLECTION: As in the past you will find envelopes at the entrance to the church for memorial donations for Christmas flowers and decorations. Place your envelope with your contribution in the collection basket. Your generous contribution is very much appreciated.
CHRISTMAS COLLECTION: Our parish Christmas Collection will be divided between our parish and thePriests’ Retirement Fund of the Diocese of Ogdensburg. Currently 35 retired priests of the diocese are provided financial support from the Priests’ Retirement Fund. Also, 12 priests age 70 and older who remain active in parish ministry are now eligible for a partial retirement benefit paid from this Fund. In total, pension benefits project to be $820,200 this fiscal year. Your contributions are also used by the diocese to prepare for retirement needs of priests who will retire in the future.
EPIPHANY CAROLS AND CONCERT: All are welcome to a concert of Lessons and Carols to celebrate the Solemnity of the Epiphany on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 4:00PM at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville with Bishop Terry LaValley presiding. The choir made up of people from area churches will be singing works by Holst, Caccini, Willcocks, Grier and more.

DECORATING THE CHURCH: You are invited to decorate the church, prepare the manger scene for the festive Christmas season on Thursday morning, December 23rd starting at 10:00.. It should take about two hours. Please come to help us as well as to give us your decorating suggestions.
MARCH OF LIFE PILGRIMAGE: On Sunday, January 23rd a bus will depart from St. Peter’s Church, Plattsburgh for Washington for those who wish to participate in the annual March for Life. Please contact Mrs. Karen Smith for more information at 518-566-6229. For those who are unable to travel to DC, there is a local March for Life being held in Plattsburgh on Sunday, January 16th beginning at 1:30 PM. The Plattsburgh March begins at The Newman Center (90 Broad St) and concludes with a prayer service at St. John's Church (20 Broad St). This year's guest speaker is Bishop Terry LaValley.
