Mission Intention for May
That the Lord may help the Church in China persevere in fidelity to the Gospel and grow in unity.
MARRIAGE TIP: If you made a list of reasons why any couple got married, and another list of the reasons for their divorce, you’d have a lot of overlap. Often the very trait that you admired eventually gets on your nerves because your spouse overdeveloped that quality. Adjust. Find more Marriage Rx atwww.foryourmarriage.org.
FORMATION FOR MINISTRY: Formation For Ministry is now recruiting candidates for the 2011 – 2013 formation classes. If you feel compelled to serve more deeply in your parish’s ministries, take a few minutes to speak with your pastor about the possibility of entering the Formation For Ministryprogram. The two year adult formation process offers participant an opportunity to grow in knowledge, faith and spirituality through weekly classes, annual retreats and ministry workshops.
FIRST COMMUNION: This weekend we celebrate the First Holy Communion of our young girls and boys. It is the day they become one with Jesus. We thank their parents for having helped them to this day. We also thank Mrs. Joan Herron, their religion teacher.

CONFIRMATION: This weekend we welcome Bishop Terry LaValley and 23 of our teenage girls and boys who will received the Sacrament of Confirmation, the sacrament by which these young persons will publicly confirmed their Catholic faith and religion. They have prepared for this decision by two years of classes of study of the Catholic faith. Each of them have completed at least 25 hours of projects in which they have freely provided spiritual and corporal works of mercy to others. We thank them for having been faithful to their classes, their assignments and their written projects. We also thank Mrs. Kelly LaFranca for her assistance in the preparation.
SETON CATHOLIC SCHOOL: Registration remains open for families who are looking for the kind of quality Catholic environment Seton Catholic offers. We welcome prospective students to visit for the day to check us out. For information phone 561-4031.
WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE: TWELVE WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Dear Spiritual Friends, twelve weeks ago, I was conceived. I am really moving around now and I change position as many as twenty times an hour. My mother cannot feel me yet, but she can see me moving around on an ultrasound. If my mom wants to, she could find out if I am a boy or girl. My face is so well formed now that it is possible to notice family resemblances.. ”For the spirit of God
has made me, the breath of the Almighty keeps me alive.” (Job 33:4)
BIRTHRIGHT VOLUNTEER TRAINING: When you hear of someone who is pregnant and in difficulties, do you want to help her quietly in practical ways that respect her dignity and her baby’s life? Consider joining Birthright. Training will be held on Saturday, May 21 starting at 9:30 am running till 3:00 pm. For information and to reserve your place please call and arrange an interview with the training chairman, Anne Marie Healey at the BIRTHRIGHT OFFICE (563-4300), 66 Clinton Street, Plattsburgh or at home (834-7091), 183 Hill St, Keeseville.
CATHOLIC CHARITIES NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT: This week is the special collection for Catholic Charities. We are a Church that believes that loving God and loving our neighbor are intimately linked. Catholic Charities provides quality and compassionate services to hundreds of our North Country neighbors. Catholic Charities also organizes and leads the advocacy efforts for the diocese. For both the direct service and in the efforts to organize people to stand up for public policies that respect the sanctity and the dignity of human life, Catholic Charities needs your prayerful and financial assistance. For more information about the programs/services of Catholic Charities throughout the North Country visit the website: www.cathcharities.org
