Mission Intention for October: That the terminally ill may be supported by their faith in God and the love of the their sisters and brothers.
NEW PRAYERS, SAME MASS : Beginning with the First Sunday of Advent November 27,2011 Catholics in this country will worship using the new English translation of the Roman Missal, Third Edition. The most noticeable changes are in the Order of Mass and the priest’s prayers. And also with you becomes And with your spirit. We believe becomes I believe, and one in being becomes consubstantial. Though some words are new, the Mass itself is not changing. This is an opportunity for spiritual renewal. Learning to pray with new words, we enter into the mystery of the Eucharist with greater awareness and appreciation. To understand the new prayers take home a copy of the prayer card and booklet at the entrance to the church
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS EVENT: A fund-raising event for Seton Academy and Seton Catholic, will be held at St. Mary’s of the Lake Parish Center Friday October 14th 6-11 PM. $50 ticket needed to attend.
ALL SOULS ENVELOPES: In the Catholic Church the month of November is dedicated to the memory of members of our family, our parish and our community who have died. A way of remembering these persons is through sharing in a Mass for them. Envelopes for All Souls are available at the entrance to the church. With your offering indicate the names in whose memory you wish us to pray.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION THANK YOU!!: Our Religious Education Program began on Thursday. While parents are the main religion teachers of their children they are assisted in their responsibilities through Catechists. Use these times to pray rather than getting impatient. Find more Marriage Rx atwww.foryourmarriage.org.
WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE THIRTY-FOUR WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Dear Spiritual Friends, 34 weeks ago my life began at my conception and I am getting closer to my birth. I weigh 6 pounds and am 20 1/4 inches in total length. It’s time for my mom to find a pediatrician for me and to finish my nursery. We are only four weeks away from my arrival date. My lungs are getting stronger and I practice breathing movements more frequently now. I have my head down and I will stay that way until I am born. My mom is getting a suitcase packed for our trip to the hospital for my delivery. It is hard for her to eat much now, because I am big. Then the children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them, but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these (Matthew 19:13-14)
