CONGRATULATIONS: Sixty years ago residents of Cadyville met in the St. Anthony’s hall to discuss the need for fire protection. As a result of this meeting the Cadyville Fire Department and Fire District were formed with plans to purchase the first fire truck and to erect a fire station. In those early days the Cadyville Fire Department provided fire protection to all of the area north of Route 3 and included Cumberland Head and the Town of Saranac. At its recent banquet celebrating 60 years of fire protection, Clarence Duquette, Sr. and Burton Duquette were honored for serving all of these 60 years. We offer our appreciation for all the current members and our prayers for eternal rest to the 88 members who have answered the “final call”. More information is available by contacting Mrs. Lynn Gilbert, the Director of International Students, at 518.561.4031 for an application. FUNERALS: Please pray for Shirley Carter and Millie Gallagher whose funerals were this week. MARRIAGE TIP: If you made a list of reasons why any couple got married, and another list of reasons for their divorce, you'd have a lot of overlap. Often the very trait that you admired gets on your nerves because your spouse overdeveloped that quality. Find more Marriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org. FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER - VOCATIONS SUNDAY: Today's Gospel reading from St. John is the parable of the good shepherd. On this Good Shepherd Sunday, we celebrate the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Pray for holy vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life, especially for our diocese, that God will raise up good shepherds in our midst. VOCATION PRAYER God our Father, You call us to share in the mission of the Church. We beg you, O God, that all those whom you are calling to serve in the harvest field of this diocese and beyond may heed Your voice and serve Your people in faithful love. May Your Holy Spirit empower them to respond with a willing and generous, “Yes.” We ask You to choose someone from this family to be a priest, sister or brother. We promise to support that person with our prayers and encouragement. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
