HOLY DAY: The Feast of the Ascension of the Lord will be observed as a Holy Day of Obligation on Thursday, May 17th. Masses for this day will be at 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM. SPORTSCAMP: SportsCamp 2012, held at Wadhams in Ogdensburg, is a great place where boys and girls age 11-15 blend quality sports training with spiritual growth. Applicants are asked to introduce our American culture to a teenager from abroad. Each participating family will receive a stipend of $550 per month per child. The observance spread to other churches, and in 1914 became a civic holiday. Since the Middle Ages Roman Catholics had long observed the Fourth Sunday of Lent as “Mothering Sunday.” On Mothers’ Day we give thanks for our Mothers and all women of the world who have joined with God in the wonder of bringing forth new life.
