CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES:  Next weekend our parish will take up the Works of the Holy Father/Catholic Relief Services Collection.  This collection makes possible the mission of the Catholic Church in America to combat poverty, provide relief and development, assist refugees and immigrants , and advocate for justice and peace in situations of conflict and neglect of basic human rights throughout the world.  Thank you for your generous support.

MARRIAGE TIP: Resist the urge to buy something new this week. Have each person in the family pick one possession to give away during Lent. Consider gently-used toys, books, or hand-me-downs that need to find a new homeFind more Marriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org.

NORTH COUNTRY CATHOLIC: We are continuing the North Country Catholic subscription campaign. Please place your subscription envelope in the collection basket or mail a check for $27 to the North Country Catholic, PO Box 106, Canajoharie, NY, 13317.  ANOTHER OPTION – “go green” and receive your NCC through email. If interested, write your email address on the envelope .

HOSPITAL VISITATIONS: Be sure to tell the Health Care Access Associate during the registration process not only that you are Catholic but also from St. James Parish. Very frequently Father Deno travels to CVPH to visit parishioners. Very frequently no one is listed as a member of St. James Parish. Because of confidentiality laws he has access only to those who have registered as a member of St. James Parish.

FORTY DAYS FOR LIFE: During Lent the Plattsburgh community-based campaign of 40 Days for Life invites you to join them in promoting pro-life activities by praying peacefully during the 40 day vigil in the public riight-of-way outside Planned Parenthood, 66 Brinkeroff Street, Plattsburgh, Information is available on their web site: 40daysforlife.com/Plattsburgh, or contacting Nancy Monette at 561-8225.

GLUTEN FREE HOSTS: If you are in need of a gluten free host, simply inform Fr. Deno before Mass, and he will make sure there is one available for you at Communion.

CATHOLIC SCHOOL EDUCATION:  Those who wish to register for Catholic Schools next Fall can do so by phoning:
Seton Academy, PK-6,  Plattsburgh: 563-6330
Seton Catholic Central School, Plattsburgh: 561-4031

BRING SOMEONE TO CHURCH: It has been shown that many persons would return to the practice of their faith if someone would invite them to return. And, surprisingly, this is especially true if the one asking was at one time one of those who had left the practice of their Catholic faith. What greater time is there than to bring someone back to church during these days of Lent and the coming days of Palm Sunday and Holy Week.
