160 YEARS OLD!  St. James Parish will soon become 160 years old! Founded in 1854 by foreign born Irish, it has provided spiritual benefits in this part of the Saranac River Valley to Irish and to all who have participated in the parish. To honor this outstanding event the parish is hosting a special memorial concert by the Beartracks, a musical group whose members have been parishioners of St. James for most of these years. A 10 year update of the parish history written by Elaine Rice will be available. The concert in St. James Church on Sunday, July 27th at 2:00 PM will be followed by a reception at the Parish Center.

PRAYER RALLY: The 3rd annual Prayer Rally sponsored by the Knights of Columbus will be held on Sunday, August 3rd from 2pm to 4pm at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg.  There will be a Prayer Service and the recitation of the Rosary.  There will also be a brief ceremony at the Monument of the Unborn on the grounds of the Cathedral.  This rally is an opportunity to pray for life, the strengthening of marriage, and the freedom to witness our Catholic values in our daily lives.  All are welcome to attend.  A reception will follow.

OGDENSBURG MISSIONS: Each year St. James Parish provides financial assistance to Catholic Churches in Mission Countries. This year Father Vincent Freeh, Missionary of the Sacred Heart from Watertown, will be with us for Masses on the August 16-17 weekend. As a result the Special Collection envelopes for the July 26-27 weekend will be collected on the August 16-17 weekend.
