Bulletin for the week of September 13, 2009

FUNERAL: A funeral was celebrated this week for Robert Ducatte. Please remember him and his family in your prayers.

BAPTISMS: William Michael Tveidt and David Michael Tveidt, children of Michael and Kayleigh (Plummer) Tveidt became members of the Catholic community through the Sacrament of Baptism on September 6th.

BISHOPS FUND APPEAL: In the coming week, you will receive a letter and brochure from Father LaValley asking you to join him in supporting the 2009 Bishop’s Fund Appeal. Next weekend we will have “Commitment Weekend” for the Appeal in our parish. Please remember - every gift makes a difference – every gift counts. You are invited to bring your gift next weekend for Commitment Weekend and place it in the collection basket or return it to Father LaValley in the envelope provided. CRAFT SHOW: The Ladies of St. Ann, Mooers Forks will have a Craft Show and Bake Sale on Saturday, October 17 at the St. Joseph Parish Center, 73 Maple Street, Mooers 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Crafters interested in renting a space can phone Marge Pombrio at 236-4577.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: In the Eucharist the Church is as it were at the foot of the cross with Mary, united with the offering and intercession of Christ. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #1370). Eucharistic Adoration is held throughout the year every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6 am to 9 pm at St. John’s Church Adoration Chapel, downstairs. Everyone is invited to spend some quiet time with Jesus anytime during these hours.

MARRIAGE TIP: "You may be right" is a handy phrase in which the speaker doesn't admit to being wrong, but allows that his/her spouse has a valid position. Sometimes that's enough to break a deadlock. Find more Marriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org

ST ANNE SHRINE: The Tourist and Pilgrimage season will officially end on Sunday, October 11th with the 10:30 Mass. Shrine grounds remain as long as weather permits. Office and Vistor’s Center is opened year round. Phone: 802-928-3362 or www.saintannesshrine.org.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION: Registration forms for the 2009-2010 Religious Education school year are available at the entrance to the Church. The Religious Education Program for Grades 1-5will be held on Thursdays whenever the Saranac Central School is in session. The first class will beThursday, October 8th. Parents are requested to pick up a form for each child in Grades 1-5. Complete the form and place it in the box designated for this purpose at the entrance to the Church. Include with each form a book fee of $20. St. James Religious Education is for St. James parishioners only. The completed registration form and book fee must be returned no later than Sunday, September 20th in order to be included in the program.

Religious Education for students in Grades 6-7 will be conducted as home study. A meeting of the parents of these children will be held on Sunday, October 4 at 2:00 PM at the St. James Parish Center. At that time parents will be assisted in the method of home instruction and provided the books which will be used. Students in Grade 8-12 who have not yet been confirmed will participate in a two year Religious Education-Confirmation Preparation program to be held monthly on Sunday evenings at St. James Parish Center starting October 11th

BIRTRIGHT VOLUNTEER TRAINING: When you hear of someone who is pregnant and in difficulties? Do you want to help her? Consider joining Birthright.
