Mission Intention for October
That Sunday may be lived as the day when Christians gather to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord by participating in the Eucharist.
OUR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS -- PARTNERS IN MISSION: The Catholic Schools of the diocese are embarking on an active campaign to increase enrolment and to help people understand the unique value of Catholic schools. On October 1 at the Seton Catholic Gymnasium at 7 pm, this program, entitled "Partners in Mission," will be explained. You are invited to come to this meeting to discover how we can keep the value of Catholic schools alive in the hearts of the all.
BISHOPS FUND APPEAL Our parish’s Bishop’s Fund Appeal activity is coming to a close. If you have not yet made a gift or pledge, please pray about your decision and make a pledge or one-time gift. Pledge cards and envelopes are located at the back of the Church. Online giving is also available at www.dioogdensburg.org/development. Thank you once again for your generosity and support. To everyone who has made a gift or pledge, thank you for making a difference in the lives of thousands of people across our diocese.
CRAFT SHOW: The Ladies of St. Ann, Mooers Forks will have a Craft Show and Bake Sale on Saturday, October 17 at the St. Joseph Parish Center, 73 Maple Street, Mooers 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Crafters interested in renting a space can phone Marge Pombrio at 236-4577.
FUNERALS: Funerals were celebrated this week for Brenda Goddeau and Oswald “Mike” Perry. Please remember them and their families in your prayers.
BAPTISM: Ryan James Bruce, son of Eric and Trisha (Plummer) Bruce became a member of the Catholic community through the Sacrament of Baptism on September 27th.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: “May we rely upon the power of our Lord’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament and the intercession of His Blessed Mother to guide and help us in fostering a greater respect for human life” (Most Rev. Thomas Daily, Bishop Emeritus of Brooklyn). Eucharistic Adoration is held throughout the year every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6 am to 9 pm at St. John’s Church Adoration Chapel, downstairs. Everyone is invited to spend some quiet time with Jesus anytime during these hours.

ST ANNE SHRINE: The Tourist and Pilgrimage season will officially end on Sunday, October 11th with the 10:30 Mass. Shrine grounds remain as long as weather permits. Office and Visitor's Center is opened year round. Phone: 802-928-3362 or www.saintannesshrine.org.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION: A meeting of parents of Religious Education students in Grades 6-7 will be held on Sunday, October 4 at 2:00 PM at the St. James Parish Center. The first class for Religious Education Grades 1-5 will be Thursday, October 8th. St. James Religious Education is for St. James parishioners only. . Students in Grade 8-12 who have not yet been confirmed will participate in a two year Religious Education-Confirmation Preparation program at St. James Parish Center starting October 11th at 7:00 PM.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS IN ACTION: The Msgr. Claude A. Gobet Knights of Columbus Council 6067 is made up of men from the parishes of St James and St Alexander’s who help their church, parishes and communities. Members from Msgr. Gobet Council 6067 will be available after all masses at St James this weekend to hand out information and accept applications. We request men of the parish to discover the opportunities available to serve their Church, families and friends in the Knights.
PRIESTHOOD SUNDAY: October 25th is "Priesthood Sunday." As usual, we will be showing our appreciation for our wonderful pastor. Please join us at our Parish Center after the 10:00 o'clock Mass for a continental breakfast to honor Father Deno. Please mark your calendar,
