PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT SCHOOLS: Recently Sister Mary Helen Hermann, Principal of Seton Academy sent information regarding some stores that help customers give financial help to schools. Purchasing participating products allows you to earn money for schools by indicating the name of the school, eg. Seton Academy. Stores and programs are: Hannaford Helps Schools ;Targets—Take Charge of Education ; Price Chopper; Box Tops for Education; Campbell’s Soup Labels; Swanson’s Labels .

MANHATTAN PIANO TRIO: Saint Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh will present the Metropolitan Piano Trio on Monday, October 4th at 7:00 pm. The Trio is currently one of the most prominent chamber music groups in the country. The trio comprises Moldavian- American pianist, Milana Strezeva, Russian-American cellist, Dimitry Kouzov and Chinese-American violinist, Wayne Lee. There is no charge for the event.

PRE-SCHOOL OPENINGS: Seton Academy has a few pre-school openings since some students who were enrolled have moved away. There are options for 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, or 5 days. The child must be 4 years old by December 1. For more information call the school office at 825-7386. Be part of the Seton Academy family!

BISHOP’S FUND APPEAL: The 2010 Bishop’s Fund Appeal continues this week. Please prayerfully consider supporting the many programs of the Diocese funded by the Bishop’s Fund. Thank you in advance for your support. .
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES: Religious Education classes begin on October 7 for registered children from 2:15 to 3:15 PM. The second year of Confirmation preparation will begin classes on Sunday, October 3rd at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center.

BROTHER ANDRÉ - A FRIEND. A BROTHER. A SAINT: On October 17 Brother André Bessette will become a saint of the Catholic Church in Rome through his canonization by Pope Benedict XVI. In 1870 Alfred Bressette appeared at the door of the Brothers of the Holy Cross in Montreal. Inspite of his frail health he was accepted as a Brother and took the name of Brother André. He was assigned the job of gatekeeper at the College of Notre Dame where he stayed for 40 years. He encourage the ill and downtrodden who came to the gate to pray to St. Joseph. The healings multiplied. During this time he used a small chapel which became St. Joseph's Oratory. . (This is the third of information on Brother André which will appear here in the next few weeks.)

TV VIEWING OF CANONIZATION OF BROTHER ANDRÉ. Live broadcast of the Canonization ceremony by Pope Benedict XVI direct from St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Italy will be on EWTN TV on October 17th at 3:30 AM. Encores on October 17th at 12PM & October 18th at 12AM. (2 Hour broadcast)
