Mission Intention for November
That the victims of addiction may, thanks to the support of the Christian community, find in the power of our Saving God strenght to recover.
THANK YOU: The Hospitality Committee would like to sincerely thank all those who provided refreshments for the Pastor Appreciation Reception this past week end and all those who attended to honor Father Deno.
PLANNING FOR DEATH IS NATURAL: Planning for death is as natural for the Christian as planning for life. As stated in 1 Timothy 5:8, if anyone does not take care of his own, and especially of his household; he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. Having a Will is good Stewardship. Take care of your family.
CATHOLIC CALENDARS: Calendars for 2011 indicating the special holy days and saints of the Catholic Church are available for your home or workplace. This year they are on the theme of Christian stewardship.
SAVE THE DATE: Seton Academy & Seton Catholic will be holding their fifth annual Christmas Dinner/Silent Auction December 5 from 12-5 PM. If you are interesting in getting involved in the planning, meetings will be Nov 10th & 17th at 6:00 PM at Seton Catholic High School. You can also participate by donating items for our Silent Auction or home made gifts. Take outs available. For more information call Stacie Chapman at 643-7918 or go to www.setoncatholic.net
MARRIAGE TIP: Duing the month of November remember those who have died. Spend a moment today praying together for your relatives and friends who have passed on. Find more Marriage Rx atwww.foryourmarriage.org.
VISITING A CEMETERY DURING MONTH OF NOVEMBER: The custom of visiting the cemetery and praying for the dead can be traced to the women who returned to the tomb of Jesus Easter morning to mourn and complete the preparation of His body for burial. Then and there they discovered that He had been raised from the dead. Today, our visits to the cemetery are prompted by our love and faith. We come to remember, to mourn, to give thanks for the life our beloved shared with us, to pray for peaceful rest in death, and to strengthen our belief that one day we will be united with our beloved in Eternal Life.
PRAYER FOR VISITING THE CEMETERY
We come to this sacred place, the earthly home of our departed loved ones, where they rest in peace.
We come to this sacred place to be close to God and remember the love He has for us.
We come to this sacred place to pray for the eternal repose of their souls.
We come to this sacred place in prayer, asking for the intercession of those who are before the throne of God.
We come to this sacred place and are reminded that God is present, for always and forever.
We come to this sacred place as so many have come before us and will continue after us, as a member of God's family.
