Bulletin for the week of April 17, 2011

Mission Intention for Aptil
That through its compelling preaching of the Gospel, the Church may give young people new reasons for life and hope.

GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION: On Good Friday, our parish will take up the annual Good Friday Collection for the Holy Land. Christians living where Christ walked, taught, lived and died, live in a land of war, death and destruction. The Holy Land Collection is a pontifical collection that supports the Holy Land for the welfare of their Christian brethren and of the local communities. Funds for this collection not only support the holy places, but also pastoral, charitable, educational and social works throughout the Holy Land.

EASTER DUTY: All Catholics who have reached the age of reason must confess their serious sins in the Sacrament of Penance at least once a year. They must also receive Holy Communion at least once each year during the Easter season, which this year extends from March 9th until Trinity Sunday, June 19th.

BRING SOMEONE TO CHURCH: It has been shown that many persons would return to the practice of their faith if someone would invite them to return. And, surprisingly, this is especially true if the one asking was at one time one of those who had left the practice of their faith. What greater time is there than to bring someone back to church during these days of Lent and the coming days of Palm Sunday and Holy Week.

MARRIAGE TIP: Repair attempts are crucial and are highly predictive of marital happiness. They can be clumsy or funny, even sarcastic, but the willingness to make up after an argument, is central to every happy marriage. How do you typically make up after a fight?. SETON CATHOLIC SCHOOL: Registration remains open for families who are looking for the kind of quality Catholic environment Seton Catholic offers. We welcome prospective students to visit for the day to check us out. For information phone 561-4031.

WE VALUE THE GIFT OF LIFE: NINE WEEKS AFTER CONCEPTION
Dear Spiritual Friends, I was conceived nine weeks ago and continue to grow very rapidly. In three weeks, I will be twice as big! I am about 2 1/2 inches long and have fingernails. While my gender was determined at my conception, now it may be possible to tell whether I am a boy or girl by looking at me. My mother is noticing more changes in her body, too. . “And now, bless the God of all who has done wondrous things on earth, who fosters men’s growth from their mother’s womb, and fashions them according to his will.” (Sirach 50:22)

CLOTHING STORE: For your information the St. Joseph Church, Treadwells Mills Used Clothing Store is opened on Mondays and Fridays: 10 AM to 2 PM, and Wednesdays: 4 PM to 8 PM

FUNERAL: A funeral was celebrated this week for Rance Bull. Please remember him and his family in your prayers.
