Mission Intention for August
That young people called to follow Christ, may be willing to proclaim and bear witness to the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
MASS TIMES WHILE TRAVELING: Parishioners who are travelling may call 1-800-627-7846 (1-800-MASSTIMES) or http://www.masstimes.org for the location and schedule of Masses in Catholic Churches throughout the USA and other countries.
MARRIAGE TIP: Since before Cinderella, stepparents have had a bad rap. Stepparents play a precarious role, trying to love as a true parent but often unsure of their job. If you have a stepchild, listen and wait to be accepted. If you don’t, pray for those in step relationships this week Find more Marriage Rx at www.foryourmarriage.org

Follow Etta, a grandmother with arthritis and seasonal allergies, through a typical day of aches and pains and see how you can help: www.KnowYourDose.org/game.
MARRIAGE JUBILEE: The Diocese has announced that they will hold the annual Marriage Jubilee Mass this year on September 30th at 2:30 pm at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg. This event is a wonderful opportunity for those couples who are newly married to come together and celebrate with couples who have truly lived the sacrament of marriage. All couples are welcome. Couples celebrating jubilees and wishing to receive a certificate need to register for this event through the parish before September 18th
HOUSE OF PRAYER:, Our Lady of the Adirondack House of Prayer, Ellenburg Center celebrates its Foundation Day with Bishop Terry LaValley presiding at Mass and Fr. Jack Downs giving a conference on Meditation and Contemplation, Saturday, August 25, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For info phone 594-3253
GLUTEN-FREE HOSTS AVAILABLE: If you are in need of a gluten-free Communion host, please advise Father Deno before the Mass you attend, and the special host will be set aside for you.
OUR LADY OF THE ARCTIC SNOWS: The Catholic Missions in Northern Alaska were developed 150 years ago by women and men who came to bring the message of Jesus to the Eskimos living there. Love for Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taught. But images of Mary with which Eskimos could identify were not available. Using the beauty of Eskimo clothing with fur ruffs framing the face, and many other details, an artist painted an Eskimo Madonna 60 years ago. She was name Our Lady of the Arctic Snows. The painting hangs in the main building of the Diocese of Fairbanks, Alaska. You are invited this weekend to contribute in the Mission Appeal to the Diocese of Fairbanks.
