HAPPY NEW YEAR! This is the first Sunday of the new Church year. It’s also the first Sunday of the Church season of Advent. The color of the season is violet to show we’re in a time of quiet preparation for the coming of the Messiah. During Advent we hear John the Baptist telling us to repent, to change our lives for the better, and to make straight the way of the Lord.
For those of you who follow the Bible readings of the Church, our new church year (December 1, 2013 to November 29, 2014) will be known as Year A.

CHRISTMAS HYMNS WITH CHILDREN:   The children in Grades 1-5 who participate in the Religious Education Program on Thursdays will be invited to sing Christmas Carols before the 4:00 Mass on Christmas Eve.  Practices will be at the Parish Center after the religion class on Thursday December 5th and at St. James Church on Thursday December 19th.  Parents whose children will participate are asked to pick up their child at 4:00 PM on those days.

RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS. Your donation to the special  Retirement Fund for Religious collection next week helps provide necessities such as prescription medication and nursing care for retired religious sisters and brothers.

HEALING MINISTRY: Living Waters Healing Ministry Mass at St. Alexander’s Church, Morrisonville, First Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM.
